Yves Saint Laurent sparkle sweatpants

There has been much debate about sweatpants, are they seen by all men

 as an item that should only be worn inside the house or at the gym? Are they

 considered as a deal breaker or on par with the dreaded onsie? Or are they a

fabulous fashion garment that we should  be proud to wear and dress up with stiletto

 heels and a blazer?  After seeing these beautiful outfits from Alexander Wang, 

Whistles and Yigal Azrouel, i  knew I agreed with the latter argument. 

I was only too happy to find my perfect YSL sweatpants at Bicester. They

have a luxurious sparkle to the outside and are amazingly comfortable to wear,

not only would I throw them on for breakfast, but i'd proudly parade them at a

 restaurant for an evening meal.

Absolutely adore Mina Kunis's outfit for the MTV awards,

a beautiful piece by the exquisite French label, Balmain. 

Teamed oh so simply with a  tee from Day Birger et Mikkelsen.

Minimalism + Encrusted beauty,

makes me long for these ALLSAINTS outfits...

or maybe just total embellishment... i wouldn't say no

The Middleton Effect

William & Kate's engagement photo, 16th November 2010

The famous engagement photograph that made many hearts flutter. The Reiss 'nanette' dress sold out immediately. Kate could have chosen the most expensive, designer outfit for a date that will go down in history but opted for a high street beauty costing only £179. Three quarter sleeves expose her dainty wrists that lead to that exquisite ring, classic white in colour and fabulously feminine with a cascading frill to the front. Did you get your hands on one?

The Nanette Dress, Reiss

Kate Middleton chose Reiss again for the perfect dress to meet Barack and Michelle Obama at Buckingham Palace during their three day visit to London. I'm sure you will all agree that she looks

absolutely breath-taking. The cut is very classic  and couldn't be more flattering with a thick waist band drawing in her already tiny figure. The box neckline is perfect for the duchess and when combined with a figure hugging cut, she has flaunted a classy, conservative and captivating outfit yet again. 

The Shola Dress, Reiss

My favourite Reiss dress worn by the princess, as I managed to grab myself a piece of the Middleton magic when I purchased this gem. As I am only in my twenties I do not want to throw away my youth and build a completely classic wardrobe yet. I love the 'peacock' dress because as Kate shows, when teamed with a jacket it reveals a demure, feminine pleated skirt (her choice of jacket was the white, tweed jacket from Joseph). However, the dress alone has a pure silk shell, a sheer top with floral cord embroidery swirled into it, and a fitted waist that draws you in before floating out into a double layered pleated skirt. I am as proud as a peacock to own this one and will treasure it for a very long time.

 Kate Middleton is being watched by the nation. Her style is always elegant and I think she is the perfect muse for British fashion. The most important feature of Kate's apparel is the fit. She is often seen in wrap dresses that accentuate her perfect figure and skirts that fall just above the knee paired with a modest heel (often from L.K.Bennet), so will we be struck by the Middleton  effect and trade in our boyfriend fit blazers for classic waist cinching ones our mini skirts for tailored skirts and blouses? When Kate shows us how to do it using the great British high-street, how can we resist following in the princess's footsteps?

The striped tee & navy capri pants looks chic yet effortless- a timeless classic.

The peg leg trouser gives a more masculine cut but are very comfortable & stylish.

The colour pop trousers are eye catching but toned down with a neutral tee- a summer delight.

If you don't want to splash £85 on a pair of Whistles trousers,
head to Zara they stock a huge variety of trousers for under £30.
 I needed a selection of day-wear trousers for a week in Paris,
these were my choice of capri pants, navy blue trousers
with a flattering pleat to the front, ankle grazing, slim fitting
 and come with belt, perfect for the day's visit to l'arc de triomphe.

These were my peg leg trousers, perfect comfort for travelling- 

as I just stepped out of Gare du Nord,

They are khaki from last season's Zara collection,

but they have released them again in beige and other shades

but love these Zara ones as a cheaper alternative.

Red trousers might seem like a very bold statement

but Kate Bosworth shows how amazing they can look,
